2012-05-12 Trip to Synevir.

Lake Synevyr is the biggest in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine. We have planned to visit it long ago and finally trip started. On Friday evening I have checked satellite images of that district in google maps and found road on ridge. Friend of mine also told me that there was some road through mountains to lake so I assumed that it is it.
And here we are on mountain ridge, turning left from paved road ... adventure has started.
From time to time we have stopped to make a shots.

Road is surprisingly clean.

From time to time there was only small puddles

The sun is shining the light breeze and the silence ...

Checking maps and started looking for options for the descent. Unfortunately I didn't have that roads in my garmin's map, then found several roads with smartphone on google maps but they was swamped with trees. Decided to go further on ridge.

About one km later we found pillar with pointers

Now we know correct path.

Started to descent.

The road is quite smooth. As we later found out it is used by locals to ride tourists on trucks and SUVs.

Descent finished without any problems but at the end of road we found barrier. It appears that we are in national park (it started after the ridge) but soon I found local forester and he gave us permission and key to open barrier. Also we found out that he rents a room for tourists so we decided to spend night there.
But at first we went to our destination - Synevir lake.

PS
in addition videos from driving through 2 small puddles.
